Effective SMEs: How to Help Subject Matter Experts Facilitate Learning

Effective SMEs

Bringing subject matter experts (SMEs) into the training process is one of the best things learning leaders can do. SMEs bring a depth of experience, enterprise-wide perspectives, and credibility. But asking SMEs to perform this role also brings risk because it is an environment outside their expertise.
Dale Ludwig and Greg Owen-Boger explore the unique needs of SMEs and examine ways to design learning to help them be successful. They also introduce a new language and explore nonthreatening coaching techniques to help them deliver the content effectively.
