Jennifer Fitzgerald is an undergraduate student at Northeastern Illinois University actively pursuing a degree in Human Resource Development and Psychology. Going back to college after 20 years can be a bit intimidating but she is thankful to have support and mentorship helping her to feel comfortable and at ease throughout the process of changing careers.
Through her current career experience as a Licensed Massage Therapist, she has come to realize that having an ability to help others feel better is extremely satisfying and humbling especially when clients trust enough allowing her to enhance the quality of their life. Each day she learns something new and the process has allowed her to grow from each learning experience. HRD encompasses a broad range of career opportunities building off her current experience and she will continue to build on those skills while identifying a future career path whether it’s in training and development, organizational development, instructional design, talent acquisition, or HR.
The passion she has for continuing her education to learn a great deal in the training and development field has led her to ATDChi. She is extremely honored to have been chosen as a Student Ambassador so she can help to guide other students, whether fresh out of high school or returning later in life as she has to have support and feel comfortable in their transition. She is looking forward to empowering other students, participating in volunteer work, networking, and especially determined to work hard to familiarize students, colleagues, and professionals about the benefits ATDChi has to offer throughout her role as Student Ambassador.
