Ready to take your Articulate Storyline skills
    to the next level?

Join us on April 16th in all-day hands-on workshop, Mastering Variables in Storyline.

Once you’ve mastered the basics in Articulate Storyline (adding slides, video, audio, graphics, and questions), it’s time to take your skills--and your courses--to the next level. You can do that with variables. But mastering variables can be elusive for many. What can variables do? How do you know if you need them? How do you set them up properly? In this hands-on workshop series, you’ll have a chance learn just how powerful (and not so intimidating) variables can be. You’ll learn when to use text variables, number variables, and true/false variables with real-world examples such as personalizing a scenario, adding badges and points, as well as customizing content and navigation.

After attending this program, you will be able to:

    • Determine when to use the three different types of variables
    • Personalize a course using avatars and the learner’s name
    • Add gamification elements such as points and badges

    • This is an intermediate/advanced session and requires a working knowledge of Storyline including states, layers, and triggers
    • Please plan to come with a laptop with software applications installed (trial version OK) in order to get the most out of this experience

Since the first event in 2008, the Chicago eLearning & Technology Showcase (CETS) has earned the enthusiastic praise of attendees and presenters alike. We will gather again this summer to celebrate the evolution of learning technologies.

The Showcase provides a full day of presentations with an emphasis on the role of technology and interactive methods in organizational training. Our speakers explore all aspects of elearning—analysis, instructional design, development tools, virtual instruction, evaluation, social and interactive applications, mobile learning, rapid elearning, and more.

Anyone who wants to experience the latest elearning technology platforms, tools, and delivery methods. If you attend the Showcase, you will have an opportunity to network with a wide variety of industry professionals, including

    • Instructional Designers
    • Instructional Developers
    • Trainers
    • Technical Writers
    • eLearning & Technology Marketers
    • Training Managers/Directors
    • Content Managers
    • New Media Developers/Managers

For more information, go to the CETS Website

Do you have expertise on using technology to create, enhance, or manage elearning? Perhaps you'd like to share lessons learned from a successful—or challenging—project. Or maybe you have great tips for using a toolset for learning, training, or education initiatives.

Apply to be a speaker for a 50-minute session or a 5-minute Learning Spark presentation. To learn more, see the Call for Speakers. Keep in mind that applications are due by Friday, March 22.

Would you like to help shape this year's Chicago eLearning & Technology Showcase? Then, join one of our planning committee teams.

The Showcase is run by volunteers, and we have a wide range of positions. You could recruit sponsors and exhibitors, spread the word as part of the marketing team, or provide support with registration, finance, or general management. For more information, see the Volunteer Roles & Responsibilities (PDF) and then complete the volunteer interest form.
