Join us on April 16th in all-day hands-on workshop, Mastering Variables in Storyline.
Once you’ve mastered the basics in Articulate Storyline (adding slides, video, audio, graphics, and questions), it’s time to take your skills--and your courses--to the next level. You can do that with variables. But mastering variables can be elusive for many. What can variables do? How do you know if you need them? How do you set them up properly? In this hands-on workshop series, you’ll have a chance learn just how powerful (and not so intimidating) variables can be. You’ll learn when to use text variables, number variables, and true/false variables with real-world examples such as personalizing a scenario, adding badges and points, as well as customizing content and navigation.
After attending this program, you will be able to:
- Determine when to use the three different types of variables
- Personalize a course using avatars and the learner’s name
- Add gamification elements such as points and badges
NOTE:
- This is an intermediate/advanced session and requires a working knowledge of Storyline including states, layers, and triggers
- Please plan to come with a laptop with software applications installed (trial version OK) in order to get the most out of this experience

ABOUT THE PRESENTER
Diane Elkins is the co-owner of E-Learning Uncovered and Artisan E-Learning, a custom e-learning development company specializing in Articulate Studio, Storyline, Lectora, and Captivate.
She has built a reputation as a national e-learning expert by being a frequent speaker at major industry events such as ATD ICE, ATD TechKnowledge, DevLearn, and Learning Solutions.
She is also the co-author of the popular E-Learning Uncovered book series as well as E-Learning Fundamentals: A Practical Guide from ATD Press. She is a past board member of the Northeast Florida and Metro DC chapters of ATD.
