This in-depth, highly interactive two-day workshop provides practical tips, techniques and specific guidelines for creating valid, scientifically sound Level 1, 2, 3, and 4 evaluations that produce data with high-perceived value. These tips, techniques and guidelines are based on current education and behavioral science research findings in test creation and survey design methodology.

In this comprehensive workshop, you will:

  • Examine the Kirkpatrick/Phillips 5 Level evaluation model and how to use it to build a “chain of evidence” demonstrating program value.
  • Discover 12 tips for creating Level 1 evaluations that produce powerful data and can be used to predict participant learning, intent to apply what was learned back on the job, and likely impact on business results.
  • Discover 29 tips for creating valid, scientifically sound multiple-choice, true/false, matching and fill-in-the-blank Level 2 test questions.
  • Examine the difference between multiple-choice test questions that measure job application versus those that measure mere recall.
  • Discover 12 tips for creating scientifically sound Level 3 participant surveys that measure on the job behavior change.
  • Discover how to write powerful behavioral statements for measuring on the job behavior change.
  • Analyze a two-phase eight guideline process for conducting Level 4 evaluations that connect a learning program with business results.
  • Examine how to use statistics to summarize quantitative and qualitative evaluation data in order to interpret and draw conclusions from the results.
